DESERT SEASON is here once again. Now comes the important part... getting everything ready to go.
The toys have sat all summer, will not run unless the choke is on, maybe resting on tires that are flat on one side, with oil has not been changed since last season... sometime. Well this is were we may save your next DESERT TRIP.
With the high cost of making that trip and with everybody maximizing recreation dollars and time, it might be wise to bring that motorcycle, ATV, etc. in to us so we can give it the loving care it needs so you're riding out in the desert, not in your campsite looking for parts/fluids to fix your ride. Like we always say FIX IT HERE... RIDE IT OUT THERE.
Also, we'd like to remind everyone, before putting the covers on your PWC's and pushing them back in the corner of the garage, make sure the lay-up maintenance has been completed – this should include at the very least stabilizer in the gas and run the ski with the fuel in the on position and then the off position so get the stabilizer in to the carburetors and then shut the fuel off and run the ski this will get most of the gas out of the carburetors. Also make sure the hull inside is completely dry and the cylinders are sprayed down with a fogging lubricant; we recommend using Maxima MPPL (Multi Purpose Penetrating Lube). This product can also be used to coat the motor to prevent corrosion. For more information or to have us take care of winterizing your PWC please call us for an appointment.
Just a reminder that we will be closed November 26 -28 but will be open at Glamis on vender row, stop by and say hello.

A lot has changed since the November announcement. Just a little update.
Changes have occurred since the new owners of Scrib's took over last October. There has been a total revamp of things around the shop. We've changed the website, showroom, business cards, logo, uniforms to say the least. There have been much more changes, stop by and check it out. You'll be presently surprised.
We have new uniforms for the guys! Just one more way we take pride in representing Scrib's as a clean and professional repair shop. We've also change the show room up a little by adding some Red walls and black trim. Stop by and check it out. As always, the same 3 guys will be here to help you out.
We are putting together an ebay store on line. It will be up shortly, please check the store tab for details.
When you are at the lake, the bay, or the river this Summer PLEASE be sure to take those Jet Ski's out in about waist high water and rock them back and forth after they've sat on shore for a while. This will dislodge the sand and rocks that have been shoved in by the waves. This will save you from major repairs later down the road. Also keep in mind to completely wash down the ski's after taking them into salt-water areas.
Attention, since we are in the county of El Cajon, our tax rate is 8.75% instead of the city's 9.75%. Every little bit helps these days.
As always, thank you for your local business support. As long as you keep coming in and saying hi, we'll be here Friday afternoon when you need that last minute quart of oil.

To the loyal customers of SCRIBS PERFORMANCE CENTER,
With the way the economy is now I am not sure how my wife Amelia and I were able to put it all together, but we did with the help of Jim. I will now be living my dream of owning my own motorcycle shop and getting to know each of my customers. The best thing about this whole under taking is Scrib's leading mechanic Ed was willing to stay on and help me make it all work.
I would like to introduce myself, Rob Baker the new owner. Some back ground, I was raised in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, a small town outside of Pittsburgh. In 1987, I joined the US NAVY and spent my entire carrier of 21 years right here in San Diego when I would get of work in the Navy I would spend my off time at Scrib's learning the business and anything else that I could. When Jim wanted to go live his dream of running a dirt track. I know that this was the opportunity to fulfill my dream so please come by and say hello and just remember that nothing at this shop has changed, just a different person living his dream.
